Grass parking and an open display field can make a fine setting. They also make the visitor experience sensitive to rain, wind and ground conditions. Treat the forecast as a planning input, not as a promise.

Check the organiser
Look for an official update before setting out. A general weather app cannot tell you whether a particular entrance is closed.
If the notice is unclear, ask about the site rather than guessing from last year’s photographs.
Understand the ground
Find out whether parking and pedestrian routes are paved, gravelled or on grass. These are different questions.
A paved access road does not mean every exhibit can be reached without crossing a soft field.
Pack for waiting
Choose clothing for the time spent standing as well as driving. Bring what you normally need for a comfortable outing.
Avoid carrying so much that a simple visit becomes awkward before you reach the entrance.
Protect your view
Rain on a windscreen and glare after a shower can affect the approach. Give yourself room to travel calmly.
If conditions feel unsuitable, postponing an optional outing is a reasonable choice, not a failed plan.
Ask before sheltering
An open vehicle door or display awning is not automatically a public shelter. Ask the exhibitor or staff where visitors may wait.
Keep walkways clear, particularly when people are moving away from sudden rain.
Leave a flexible return
A fixed restaurant booking far from the venue can create pressure to hurry. Keep the return plan simple if conditions are uncertain.
Check any cancellation terms before paying for a separate booking.
Describe conditions precisely
Useful feedback says which path was difficult and under what conditions. It does not declare a whole venue permanently inaccessible.
Temporary weather and permanent facilities should not be mixed into one sweeping judgement.
